What’s included in my sailing holiday?

7 nights accommodation onboard your catamaran, professional skipper, breakfast and lunch, drinking water and exclusive on-water race viewing.

What’s not included in my sailing holiday?

Visas, travel insurance, flights, evening meals, extra activities and excursions. Please contact us if you require further information or need assistance with your travel plans.

How do I travel to Bermuda?

Bermuda L.F Wade International Airport offers direct services to seven major travel hubs in Europe, Canada and the U.S. including London, New York, Miami and Toronto. These hubs provide easy connections to most destinations.

Which airlines fly to Bermuda?

Bermuda is serviced by the following airlines: Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Airlines, JetBlue, Westjet

Which days should I fly to and from Bermuda?

We recommend arriving and departing on same days as check-in and check-out as accommodation options before and after your Helm Events package will be limited.

What time is check in and check out?

You will be able to board your catamaran from 5pm on Thursday. Final check out is at 9am on the next Thursday.

How do I get from the airport to the yachts?

There are taxis and transfers available from the airport to the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club. These services do not need to be pre-booked and will take approximately 30 minutes. Pricing will vary according to the group size.

Helm Events airport transfers are now fully booked, for those who have secured this service, please ensure you send flight arrival details to sales@helmevents.com at least 1 week before arrival.

Is my trip secure?

Yes, Helm Events is owned by Navigate Travel and you are in the best possible hands. We are fully accredited and bonded with ABTA, ensuring your trip is fully protected.

Are children allowed?

All our shared-catamaran guests must be over 18 years old, however our whole catamaran bookings are ideal for family groups.

Where is the racing viewing area?

As an official partner of the America’s Cup, Helm Events have an official and exclusive on-water viewing area. This will enable our catamarans to get close to the action and excitement of the Americas Cup.

Will the racing schedule change?

The schedule is set by the Americas Cup Event Authority and subject to change. Helm Events hold no responsibility in regards to a change in schedule.

Do we have access to the race village?

America’s Cup Village access is available on Mondays and Fridays. Please note this is for General Admission only, and access to any special events or areas will require tickets purchased in advance from the America’s Cup website.

Your crew will advise the best way to make your way to the America’s Cup Village, and what days it will best fit in with the planned race schedule.

What happens on non-race days?

You will have the opportunity to explore Bermuda aboard your catamaran. Your Skipper will take you to the most picturesque and pristine islands and bays of Bermuda, or head ashore to soak up the festivities.

How do we get ashore?

Our dedicated water transfer service operates during the day and into the evening, with the last service agreed with your crew during the day. Pick up and drop off will be at Front Street in Hamilton every hour, so you will be as close to the action of the evening festivities as possible.

All our catamarans also have a motorised tender.

Can you recommend places for dining at night?

With over 150 restaurants in Bermuda and a fantastic range of international cuisines, our staff can recommend somewhere to suit all tastes. You are also welcome to use the kitchen facilities onboard your catamaran.

What will the weather be like?

In May and June you can expect temperatures to reach 27-29°C (81-85°F) through out the day while the evenings cool off to a pleasant 21-22°C (70-72°F).
Throughout summer the average water temperature is 26°C (80°F).

Should I have travel insurance?

We strongly recommend you hold comprehensive travel insurance.

Can I charter yachts in other locations?

Yes. Please contact our sister company Yacht Getaways (www.YachtGetaways.com) for shared and private yacht charter in the Mediterranean.

Where do we moor at night?

We have a mooring field near the main township of Hamilton.

Our dedicated water transfer service will be on hand to take you ashore and return you to your yacht at night. The water transfer service schedule will be available from your crew upon arrival.

Can we explore other anchorages?

Absolutely, we strive to offer an experience like no other; our catamarans and professional Skippers offer the opportunity to explore the pristine and picturesque bays and anchorages of Bermuda.

Do the catamarans have air conditioning?

Yes. Please note the air-conditioning units require the use of the generator, to reduce noise and emissions we have a policy of not running these units through the night. The evening temperature in Bermuda is pleasant and all the cabins have externally opening hatches, which ensures great airflow and temperature.

Are there power points on-board?

Yes, all our catamarans have power points. As most of our sockets are European, we recommend bringing compatible adapters, purchasing locally or if available we will provide adapters.

Is Internet access available?

Yes, WiFi is available with 10GB supplied free of charge on each catamaran per week. Please be mindful of usage as this is a shared connection for all guests onboard the yacht. However, if required, guests can purchase additional 10GB bundles at $100 US each.

Can I bring my own food and drink on board?

Yes, you can bring any food and drinks onboard with you.There is a large supermarket available to top up on any drinks throughout the week.

Selected champagne and America’s Cup drinks packages will be available for purchase onboard.

Do you offer bareboat charter?

No. All our yachts are professionally skippered, although they will be happy to step back if you are keen to get involved with sailing the yacht.

Can you offer larger catamarans?

Yes. For corporate or group bookings we are able to offer larger catamarans to suit your specifications, please enquire at info@helmevents.com.

How much is the deposit?

Our deposit terms are 50% to secure your booking, this must be paid within 2 working days, the final balance is due 12 weeks prior to your sailing date.

Can I charter the entire catamaran?

Yes. Our group bookings also qualify for up to 10% discount.

Can I book multiple weeks?

Yes. You will also benefit from our multiple weeks booking discount.

Can I book as a solo-traveller?

All our cabins are double occupancy and based on twin-share, however we offer a single supplement if you wish to have a cabin to yourself.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit or debit card payments or bank transfers. You can find our bank details on your booking management page, or you can follow the link there to make payments online with a credit or debit card. Please note all payments have to be made in USD, and members of your group can make payments separately using your booking reference number.

Can I get an invoice for my America’s Cup package?

Yes. Please email info@helmevents.com or download your booking confirmation from your booking management site.
